As summer softens into autumn, the Autumn Equinox marks a powerful turning point in the year — a moment when day and night stand in perfect balance before we move into the darker, quieter half of the seasonal cycle.
Physically, the Autumn Equinox is an astronomical event where the sun crosses the celestial equator, creating almost equal hours of daylight and darkness across the Earth. Nature begins to shift inward: leaves fall, energy slows, and the season invites rest, nourishment and preparation.
Spiritually, the Autumn Equinox is often seen as a sacred threshold — a time to pause and honour both the light and the shadow within ourselves. It offers an invitation to reflect on what has grown, to express gratitude for what has been harvested in our lives, and to gently release what no longer serves us as we transition into a season of deeper listening and inner wisdom.
